What makes Extra Virgin Olive Oil special?

Olive Oil has been treasured for generations and remains one of the most recognisable botanical oils in the world.

Naturally rich in oleic acid, with a characteristically rich and emollient feel, Extra Virgin Olive Oil brings body, conditioning and luxurious slip to cosmetic formulations.

Compared with lighter oils such as Jojoba or Apricot Kernel, it has a richer and more substantial character, making it particularly lovely for body oils, massage blends, balms, butters, soaps and nourishing hair formulations.

Can Extra Virgin Olive Oil be used on its own?

Yes. Extra Virgin Olive Oil is widely used both on its own and as an ingredient in cosmetic formulations.

Its naturally richer texture also makes it an excellent blending oil. It can be combined with lighter botanical oils such as Jojoba, Apricot Kernel or Fractionated Coconut Oil when a lighter overall texture is desired.

Did you know?

Olive Oil is obtained from the fruit of the olive tree, rather than from a seed or kernel like many of the other oils in our botanical collection.

“Extra Virgin” distinguishes this oil from more extensively refined olive oils and helps preserve the characteristic colour, aroma and natural character associated with olive oil.

That also means it should not be confused with our Natural Olive Oil BP, which is a separate ingredient with different sourcing and processing.
